Body Bare, Ladyfair and Feminine Review
When you order the Body Bare, it will arrive at your place in a discreet packaging with a description on the packing note that reads “shaving kit”. Mine came in a rather bulky UPS Express box. This is not the type of item a postman can stuff into your mailbox and you will have to personally sign for it to receive this package. I took as many photographs of the Body Bare, Ladyfair and Feminine products to let you see how the product really looks like and discover what you will be receiving when you get one. The official web site does not do a good job with their tiny pictures and it leaves you with a lot questions.
There are 3 packages for sale on the official web site:
- Body Bare + Ladyfair ($59.99)
- Body Bare + Feminine ($79.99)
- Body Bare + Ladyfair + Feminine ($89.99)
Read on to find out which combination I believe is the best value for money…
Ladyfair Intimate Trimmer Review
This is the white product you see in the photos. This is the main tool I use to shave my pubic area before using the Body Bare to remove the smaller bits of pubic hair. You could simply use the Ladyfair on it’s own if you do not wish to shave it all off. You will have to purchase 2 AA batteries to run this trimmer because they are not included in the box. There are 2 sides to the Ladyfair – one side is flat for shaving flat skin surfaces while the other side is round for shaving curvy areas. You will need to apply some baby powder on your skin to make it smoother for the Ladyfair to glide across your skin. It will take 2 or more strokes to remove the hair from your desired area. I believe the Ladyfair is capable of trimming your pubic hair to a length of about 1 to 2mm or less.
I first tested this on my hand to see how it works and I must admit I did not read the instructions completely. I noticed that I got nicks and cuts if I apply too much pressure against my skin with this trimmer. Luckily I tested it on a pretty harmless area of my body first until I got the hang of it. I don’t think the Ladyfair is suitable for uneven surfaces of the genital area even though it works perfectly fine in the bikini line area and the pubic region. If you have a couple of loose strands of pubic hair on or around your genitals, I would recommend that you use a pair of tweezers to pluck them out instead. If not, you have to be extremely skillful and careful with this tool to trim the pubic hair off your genitals.
Feminine Intimate Area Trimmer Review
On PersonalShavers.com, the Feminine trimmer is silver in color and I was disappointed when mine came in a dull black color. This tool comes with a free AA battery and it works pretty much the same way as the Ladyfair, the only difference is you have to hold it like toothbrush and use like a paint brush. Try to visualize pointing the “teeth” of the Feminine in a 45 degree angle like how a sculptor would use a chisel and glide it across your skin as though you are brushing something. It will take a couple of strokes to trim the hair down till it is almost gone.
I made a mistake during my early days with this trimmer by pressing it in a perpendicular angle onto my skin because I thought I could split my pubic hair from the top and shape my pubic hair into a certain design. That is a big no no as it will result in cuts and nicks. Applying too much pressure also results in minor cuts and nicks. Baby powder is necessary to reduce friction and to provide a nice glide for the trimmer to do it’s work. Personally, I don’t think this trimmer is necessary if you are not too fussy about shaping your pubic hair as the Ladyfair does a pretty good job on it’s own.
Body Bare Personal Pubic Shaver Review
I saved the Body Bare for the last part because I wanted to explain the necessary trimming process before you can use this pubic shaver. On it’s own, the Body Bare can’t shave anything off your body if the hair you want to shave isn’t a stubble. A stubble in this context would refer to pubic hair that is 1 to 2 mm in length or shorter. Whenever I clean my Body Bare shaver, I usually see tiny bits of hair that are no more than 2 mm in length. That is how short you need to reduce your pubic hair length to.
The instructions says something about moving the Body Bare in circular motions around the area you want to shave. I find it necessary to tilt the Body Bare in a 45 degree angle to remove some of my hair because hair doesn’t grow out vertically 100% of the time. I even move the Body Bare in all possible directions to try to catch all the hair into the revolving blades. Firmly holding the skin around the area till it is taut helps a lot too if you experience difficulty in getting the right angle to remove the hair you want.
I bought the rechargeable version of the Body Bare and it comes with a standard USA plug to attach to the bottom of the Body Bare unit. I am not sure how long it takes to charge the unit completely. I usually leave the unit to recharge overnight and it lasts a maximum of about 10 to 15 minutes – the time required for a typical shaving session. If you have never shaven your pubic area, it will take quite a while to get used to these tools and the daily maintenance work required to keep your pubic hair short and neat. Pubic hair usually grows out in about 1 to 2 days after shaving and if you plan to keep your pubic region completely shaved all the time, it is going to take quite a lot of maintenance work on a daily basis. I prefer to keep things simple and remove the hair that may be exposed outside of my underwear and keep the the length short. Therefore, I only need to work on my pubic region about twice per week.
Putting It All Together…
The Body Bare and the bundled trimmers are not perfect and they require a little bit of learning curve to use them effectively. It doesn’t matter if you choose to shave, wax or use hair removal creams, there is always a very high chance of getting ingrown hairs in the pubic region when they start to grow back due to the curly and thick nature of pubic hair. With the Body Bare pubic shaver, I have been able to dramatically reduce the occurance of ingrown pubic hair compared to the time when I used my leg shaver and leg shaving cream to do the job. Fortunately there is a solution to ingrown pubic hair… I have been free of ingrown pubic hair ever since I started using the Gigi No Bump lotion before and after shaving. Somehow it makes the pubic hair grow out vertically and not sideways (Thank goodness!). In short, Ladyfair Intimate Trimmer + Body Bare + Gigi No Bump = A wonderful pubic shaving solution for men and women.
